Working Trades Supervisor - Cumbria/Lancashire

If you’ve answered yes, then keep reading as LLED are looking for a professional, well organised, and dedicated individual to perform the role of Working Supervisor in Cumbria and Lancashire.

We are a successful Property Maintenance & Construction company, and we help people who have suffered losses caused by events such as fire, flood, accidental damage and storm. As Working Supervisor, you will be involved in and lead numerous projects to reinstate properties following damage by an insured peril.

You must be self-motivated and driven to succeed and above all you must demonstrate a desire to keep your customer at the heart of all that you do.

You will be reporting directly the small works manager. However, you will be required to co-ordinate planned works, manage direct and subcontracted labour, ensure all works are completed on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Requirements for this job:

  • All applicants must have previous Supervisor or Management experience (minimum 3+ years), be qualified in either SMSTS / SSSTS and have or willing to achieve 1st Aid.
  • I.T. literate, particularly with MS Word and Excel
  • Possess a suitable trade qualification and have a broad knowledge of other trades/working practises.
  • Have a good eye for detail.
  • Have good organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation
  • Ability to make key decisions, be comfortable with responsibility and accountability for successful outcomes in service delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, a solutions-focussed approach and comfortable working within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Have effective communication skills with the ability to develop good working relationships.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
  • As you will be working in Customers’ homes you will also need / obtain a DBS check.
  • Domestic insurance or social housing repairs experience will be an advantage.

Your new role - Key Activities & Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Small Works Manager.
  • Supervising and coordinating a variety of trades and subcontractors.
  • Undertake physical duties/activities as deemed required to assist in completing works.
  • Attend site meetings to assess required works.
  • Order materials when required.
  • Provide practical and technical support as required.
  • Professionally deal with incoming calls and emails from colleagues, customers and clients.
  • Keep homeowners and clients updated with the programme of work/dates etc.
  • Complete satisfaction visits to customer to sign off completed repairs.
  • Foster a culture of excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the company Health & Safety Policy and other company policies & procedures.
  • Help with maintaining H&S documentation.
